Welcome back, foodies!!! I got an awesome chance to try out the wonderful and beautiful Azurea at One Ocean Resort & Spa. I must say, soon as you walk into Azurea, you've stepped into something magical.
Azurea invited local media to get a look at their new Spring menu. It's a menu that's full of unique items that will be a hit on the First Coast.
The atmosphere at Azurea is quiet, romantic, beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the best of all, comfortable. Azurea's dining experience is top notch, from beginning to end.
We got to choose our own entrees and it was a difficult decision. They had delicious items like Wagyu Braised Short Rib, Alaskan Wild Salmon and Ostrich Loin. Yes, Ostrich Loin. Seeing Ostrich on a menu is a first for me. But, I went with my weakness and got the Paella Risotto. If you know me, I have an unhealthy love for risotto. What made me want to try it was that it was a mixture of a classic Seafood Paella but with the rice cooked risotto style. It did not disappoint. The dish was filled with Crab, Lobster, Scallops, Baby Octopus, Chorizo & Chicken. The risotto itself was cooked perfectly. All the proteins were cooked perfectly. I truly didn't want the dish to end.
We also had a chance at a soup or salad to start and I got the Sweet Corn Bisque. It was so good. I know you're looking for a better adjective. But, good is what your going to get from me. Just know it was good from start to finish. The bisque also had a smokiness from the Benton's Ham. If you've ever had Benton's Ham, then you know what I'm talking about.
The desserts were even more amazing. We had a tasting of the Lemon Curd Ricotta Cheesecake, Dark Chocolate Macaron, Spring Mixed Berry Pound Cake & a Florida Key Lime Meringue Torte. The pound cake was my favorite. So warm and buttery. The Macaron was massive, like the size of a cookie. Like the rest of the meal, the desserts were carefully plated and beautiful looking.
So Spring is here. If you're looking for a great date night, Anniversary dinner, even Mother's Day location. Azurea at One Ocean Resort, is a great spot. Do your taste buds a favor and make a reservation. Enjoy the ambiance, the view, the food. It's one of those meals that you'll remember.
