Good eats in Flagler Beach!

So yesterday, I took a short road trip to Flagler Beach to visit Swillerbees Craft Donuts & Coffee Bar. I have some St. Augustine friends who visit the donut shop on the regular and told me great things. So me being me, I was up to the foodie challenge. There's just something about traveling on a beautiful day to a lovely location for good food. As much as I love the ever growing foodie scene in Jacksonville. Sometimes you have to take a sneak peak of local places that are just a stone's throw away (or a quick road trip away). The Stuffed French Toast, Samoa & Churro were my favorite from this visit. They were all so good. I am glad this place is far away or I would be in big trouble. They really do a good job in having various out of the box toppings. Much like potato chip, you can't eat just one.

After I got done hiking at Bulow Creek, I headed back to the area to try out Bayne's BBQ. This restaurant just recently opened and has become an already favorite with the locals. For some of you, who've been to Bearded Pig here in Jacksonville. This restaurant has a similar feel. The restaurant also has a bar with a couple local beers on tap and they serve wine & craft cocktails. My favorite of the visit was the Seriously Smokin' Chicken Wings. The wings are smoked and then fried. The wings were big and juicy and the BBQ sauce they were tossed in was nice and spicy. They are currently on their Happy Hour menu for $1.00 per wing. You definitely must try them. The brisket was very tender and had good flavor. Two out of the three sides needed some salt. More seasoning would have made the meal great. But it's definitely a must visit if you're in the area.
