So last night other media/press & myself, were invited by new Riverside restaurant HobNob to preview their restaurant and a small part of their very delicious menu. They definitely did not disappoint.
HobNob is located in the new 220 Riverside area of Riverside & it's definitely a beautiful one. Seating inside & out, beautiful decor, open-style kitchen. The restaurant is very comfortable and very well laid out. I love how the front doors open up to give you a panoramic look of inside & outside the restaurant. The pictures can't really explain how beautiful this place is. You will definitely have to see for yourself.
So, what can I say about the food? It was pretty damn good. Even for a restaurant going through the "soft" opening stage, all of it was pretty on point. I can overhear the servers repeating back each and every dish they got. Each plate was detailed, clean and thoroughly looked over before being sent out. We got to taste 13 different items from appetizers to desserts. The food is beautifully plated, well thought out and well pretty damn good. I had a lot of favorites. We only got to taste a little of each plate so I will have to come back and have a whole plate to myself. The Kaffir Crusted Seabass was one of my favorite dishes of the evening. It was served with roasted baby carrots & asparagus, steamed rice, and a truffled green curry. I really wish I could've had the whole plate to myself.
The desserts were on par too. It's hard to pick a favorite. Bread pudding is always on the top of my list when it comes to the dessert department. But when it goes against Ricotta filled Fritters then it's a hard choice.
This restaurant will definitely be a hit. With it's international cuisine mixed with local ingredients, HobNob will definitely stand out on it's on. The head chef definitely knows what he is doing and has a great staff to back him up. The restaurant is currently going through a "soft" opening phase, but will start taking reservations only, March 25th. You definitely need to try this place out. I kid you not, you wont leave disappointed.
